On his memories of Bob Backlund: “Back in the Crockett era, and back in the days where we would do the local interviews in the garage? He came back one day and was doing some local promos. And I remember him just coming back and said, ‘Hello, ladies and gentlemen, and boys and girls, blah, blah, blah.’ And I’m thinking, ‘Wow, this is the former WWF Champion, and he’s boring as s**t.’ But he was a nice guy, super nice, just boring as hell.”
On Don Muraco: “I didn’t know much about — I never worked with him that I can recall, and didn’t know much about him. I always thought he looked magnificent, as the old name goes. Had a very good look about him.”
