Toluca bets on saving lives through the Drive without Alcohol program

Toluca, State of Mexico, October 13, 2025.- With the Drive without Alcohol program, 43 people were detected who were driving drunk or with alcoholic breath and one more for disturbing public order.
With the aim of preventing accidents and safeguarding the integrity of Toluca families, the General Directorate of Safety and Protection, through the Directorate of Road Sustainability, implemented three simultaneous operations this weekend.
The checkpoints were strategically installed in the Nueva Oxtotitlán, Residencial Colón and San Lorenzo Tepatitlán delegations. At these sites, specialized personnel conducted more than a thousand interviews and administered 66 breathalyzer tests.
As a result, 35 vehicles and a motorcycle were seized, in addition to the referral of 44 people before the Civic Judge.
The actions of this program will be maintained randomly and permanently in different parts of the city, with special emphasis on weekends and dates of high traffic flow.
