Today’s Weather: Dry Start, Northern Rain Later

by Archynetys News Desk

New Year’s Day will start dry in most places in Limburg. A little drizzle or melting snow cannot be ruled out.
At road surface temperatures around freezing point, it is important to pay attention to local slipperiness.

During the afternoon, a more active precipitation zone will emerge from the north. The upper air is cold enough for snow, but that snow will usually have melted in the less cold lower air layer before it reaches the bottom. There is therefore a chance of melting snowflakes in the higher south of the province. In the lower center and north it will mostly be rain.

In the afternoon it will be a maximum of 3 to 4 degrees.

In the night leading up to Friday, the mercury will drop towards freezing again. If something falls, it will usually be snowflakes.

It cannot be ruled out that it will snow harder regionally during Friday…
