Again and again novels are used as a template for films. So also that of the British success author Jojo Moyes. She made her debut as early as 2002, but she only became known in 2012, with a book that many know primarily as a film version. Today “a whole half a year” comes to prime time on ProSieben.
Today you can watch “a whole six months” at 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben

“A whole six months” became the greatest book success in 2013. The novel then provided the template for the film hit of the same name. But many do not know that this heartbreaking story from Moyes’ feather is not the only one that has been filmed. For all fans of “a whole six months” there is an overview of all previous Moyes films – and one that is currently being planned.

Romance, passion and drama
The television film, made for Sat.1, received positive feedback overall, with some critics noted that the story would also have been suitable for the “Herzkino” on ZDF. With well-known German actors: Inside in the line-up (Anna Schudt from “Tatort” and Kai Schumann, who also plays on “The Land Practice”) and the combination of horse and love drama, the film adaptation of “Im Shadow” is just the thing for everyone who likes to dream away.

In the 1960s, the elegant Jennifer Stirling awakened after an accident in a hospital – without memory of her previous life. She only wrote a letter with her, passionately written and signed with “B” – probably by a man for whom Jennifer would risk everything. In 2003, journalist Ellie Haworth encounters exactly this letter and is immediately fire and flame to get to the bottom of the story. Who were lovers?
The film adaptation was realized by Netflix, promoted by the two main actresses Shailene Woodley and Felicity Jones, who not only shone in front of the camera, but also had their fingers in the game as producers in the development of the film. In reviews, it is praised that the actresses in particular played their roles authentically and mastered the challenge of working out two love plots in one film.

“The Giver of Stars”, in German “like a shining in deep night”, should appear as a film in a good two years. The book is about five librarians who have set themselves the task during the great depression in the 1930s to bring people closer to reading.
As early as 2020, it was announced that Universal Pictures is planning a film adaptation. Alison Owen should direct with Jojo Moyes. The two have already worked together on the set of “a whole six months”. So you can speculate that your next project will be an equally great success.
Fun Fact: Jojo Moyes does a common thing with Til Schweiger?
Sophia Nolte Matilda and Nick Nolte Amadeus plays in the US version. And Jojo Moyes also wrote on the script.

“Honey in the Head” by and with Til Schweiger is about the particularly heart -ranging relationship between Tilda, played by Schweiger’s daughter Emma, and her grandfather Amandus, who was suffering from Alzheimer’s. The tragicomedy was the most successful German film in 2014 – enough potential for an American remake.
Said, done: four years later, “Head Full of Honey” came to the American cinemas and of course Til Schweiger had his fingers in the game again. But also Jojo Moyes: that helped with the adaptation of the script.
Incidentally, the differences between the two versions are only minimal-the conflict between Schweiger’s film son and Film-Ex games is a more important role and Nick Nolte, who plays the demented film opa, has struck a melancholy tone than Dieter Hallervorden in the German original. Perhaps the film critic Rex Reed found him “as funny as a root canal treatment without anesthesia”.
