In the early morning (August 29th) the fourth competition day of the Badminton World Cup 2025. Thuy Linh started in the round of 16 of the women’s singles against the world ranking-listed Yu FEI. Thuy Linh had lost both previous encounters, so that she certainly felt some pressure.
And that showed up on the field when the Vietnamese player had difficulties right from the start. The Chinese player attacked continuously. Chen Yu Feu kept sending the badmose quickly, shattered it, and even hit the badminton close to the body, which confused Thuy Linh.
Chen Yu Feu continued to collect points, while the Vietnamese player tried to break her opponent’s winning streak. However, she was only able to reach 10 points and had to see how Chen Yu Feu achieved 21 points.
In the second sentence, Thuy Linh tried to equalize. And she succeeded with a series of three right from the start. After a 1-1, Thuy Linh led her opponent to 4: 1. After that, the two teams fought an exciting duel in the middle of the second set.
But Chen Yu Feu continued to put pressure on Thuy Linh with her full physical strength and her quick style of play and her precise coping of situations at a high level. This form helped the Chinesin to 12 points in a row. From 9: 9 she increased and won the second set with 21: 9.
A 2-0 victory over Thuy Linh helped Yu Feu to move into the quarter-finals. Your opponent will be Pornpawee Chochuwong.
Despite the defeat, Thuy Linh completed the 2025 badminton world championship with a very good result. She was in a difficult group because it was not set. Nevertheless, Thuy Linh defeated two strong players, Ratchanok Intanon and Kirsty Gilmour. Thuy Linh left the round of 16 and received 6,000 points from the Badminton World Association.
