Thursday weather planner: Morning clouds roll out, near 60 degrees for Thursday night kickoff
WE’VE GOT THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL IN TOWN, SO I THINK YOU’RE PROBABLY GOING TO SEE A LOT MORE PEOPLE IN THE DOWNTOWN AREA THIS EVENING AND THIS AFTERNOON, AND THE WEATHER IS GORGEOUS TO COOPERATE WITH US. IT’S REALLY GOING TO BE A NICE NIGHT FOR FOOTBALL. AND WE’VE GOT THE CLOUDS AROUND THIS MORNING. BUT THOSE WILL BE CLEARING OUT AS WE GO THROUGH THE DAY. SO WE’RE GOING TO BE SET UP FOR KIND OF A PICTURE PERFECT FOOTBALL NIGHT. LET’S TAKE A LOOK TONIGHT AT PAYCOR STADIUM WHEN THE TAILGATE CROWDS GET GOING OUT THERE IN THE LOTS AROUND PAYCOR AND DOWN AT THE BANKS. IT’S GOING TO BE COMFORTABLE. MORE SUNSHINE WILL BE IN THE MID 60S. AND THEN KICK OFF. TONIGHT IS AROUND 815. IT’S GOING TO BE GREAT FOR A NIGHT GAME 57 DEGREES, SO MAKE SURE YOU’RE DRESSED APPROPRIATELY FOR A COOL NIGHT AT PAYCOR. I WANT TO SHOW YOU THE RADAR ON A WIDE VIEW HERE. THINGS ARE QUIET HERE LOCALLY AGAIN, BUT AS WE GET INTO THE WEEKEND, A COLD FRONT WILL BE ON THE WAY AND IT’S A BIG FRONT. IT’S GOING TO BRING US RAIN, THUNDERSTORMS, GUSTY WINDS, FALLING TEMPERATURES, ALL OF THAT COMING IN ON SUNDAY. SO OUR NEXT WEATHER IMPACT DAY IS SUNDAY. GENERAL TIMELINE PROBABLY STARTING BY ABOUT 2 A.M. SUNDAY. SO IF YOU’RE A NIGHT OWL SATURDAY, YOU WORK UNTIL CLOSE AT A BAR ON ON SATURDAY. ON SATURDAY NIGHT, YOU KNOW IT’S GOING TO BE 2:00 IN THE MORNING THAT THE RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS START TO MOVE IN, PROBABLY CONTINUING UNTIL SOME POINT SUNDAY EVENING. SO WHAT TO EXPECT? RAIN AND SOME THUNDERSTORMS RIGHT NOW. NOT SUPER CONCERNED ABOUT A SEVERE WEATHER THREAT THOUGH. THE GUSTY WINDS WOULD BE A FACTOR. WINDS ARE GOING TO BE GUSTING AT TIMES DURING THE DAY, 30 TO 50MPH. SO THERE COULD BE AN EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORM THAT HAS A DECENT WIND GUST COULD TRIGGER A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING. TEMPERATURES WILL BE FALLING OFF FROM OUR HIGH NEAR MIDNIGHT, CLOSE TO 70 DOWN TO THE MID 50S BY THE AFTERNOON. SO A DRASTIC TEMPERATURE DROP COUPLED WITH GUSTY WINDS AND RAIN IMPACTS WOULD BE RAIN OR LIGHTNING. DELAYS TO OUTDOOR SPORTING EVENTS, FESTIVALS, THINGS LIKE THAT, AND THEN SPOTTY POWER OUTAGES ALSO POSSIBLE JUST BECAUSE OF THE GUSTY WIND THREAT. SO THAT’S ALL COMING OUR WAY ON SUNDAY. TODAY WE’RE JUST WAITING ON THE CLOUDS TO GET OUT OF HERE. THIS MORNING WE HAVE MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES. OUR TEMPERATURES ARE KIND OF HANGING OUT IN THE UPPER 50S TO AROUND 60 DEGREES, BUT WE’LL SLOWLY CLEAR THINGS OUT. AND YOU CAN SEE BY THE TIME WE GET INTO THE AFTERNOON, MORE SUNSHINE AND TEMPERATURES UP IN THE UPPER 60S. SO FOR TODAY, PLAN ON A HIGH AROUND 68 DEGREES TOMORROW MORNING WITH CLEAR SKIES. IT WILL BE COOLER AGAIN, DOWN TO ABOUT 44 AND FRIDAY PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES EXPECTED FOR HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ON FRIDAY NIGHT. SHOULD BE A NICE NIGHT FOR IT. THE SUN SETS JUST BEFORE 7 P.M. KICKOFF. IT WILL BE A COMFORTABLE 63 DEGREES WLWT BLITZ 5 GAMES OF THE WEEK PRINCETON AT FAIRFIELD NEW RICHMOND AT BATAVIA. TEMPERATURES DROPPING OFF INTO THE UPPER 50S AS YOU’RE HEADED HOME FOR SATURDAY, 53 IN THE MORNING AND THEN 83 IN THE AFTERNOON. IT WILL BE WARM. THERE COULD BE MAYBE A STRAY SHOWER ON SATURDAY, BUT THE IMPACT DAY IS SUNDAY AGAIN. RAIN, GUSTY WINDS AND LIGHTNING. TEMPERATURES FALL TO THE 50S BY MID AFTERNOON AND WE ARE EXPECTING SOMEWHERE BETWEEN ABOUT A HALF AN INCH AND AN INCH OF TOTAL RAINFALL, SO DON’T REALLY PAY ATTENTION MUCH TO THAT 70. DRESS FOR THE 50S AND WET WEATHER AND GUSTY WINDS, SO YOU’RE GOING TO WANT TO BUNDLE UP WAY MORE THAN THAT. 70 WOULD MAKE YOU THINK. AND THEN TEMPERATURES IN THE 60S AFTER THAT CHANCE FOR ANOTHER ROUND OF RAIN SHOWERS ON TUESDAY
The clouds roll out later Thursday. We’ll get a few more decent fall days before a major cold front hits us on Sunday.LIVE RADAR // LATEST WEATHER ALERTS // TRAFFIC MAP These morning clouds will keep temperatures in the 50s Thursday morning, then 60s in the afternoon.
