For many hobby chefs in Germany, it is no longer possible to imagine the kitchen without it: the Thermomix – which only appeared in its latest version, the TM7, this year.
The practical kitchen helper is very popular. Thermomix users can share their own recipe ideas with each other online via manufacturer Vorwerk’s in-house “recipe world”. But not every customer is automatically a star chef – so some hobby recipes don’t turn out that well.
More than 82,000 Thermomix recipes
But first, a ray of hope. Because of course there are also absolute highlight recipes in the Vorwerk “recipe world” that are praised to the heavens by numerous Thermomix customers.
Our editorial team has looked around the “recipe world” (as of October 23, 2025). Loyal Thermomix users have already saved more than 82,000 recipes there. And some of them have been named absolute top guides.
At the top is an orange-apple-carrot jam, which the author of the article “Easy cooking Nata” describes as a “bunny breakfast”. With almost 1,800 reviews submitted, the recipe received an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 possible stars. The almost 3,000 comments are also overflowing with enthusiasm. “This jam is simply delicious, I have often made it and given it as a gift,” praises one user. Another agrees: “I did it today. Great.”
Second place should also please those with a sweet tooth. The “Cheesecake based on Aunt Gertrud” by user “Ute123” also achieved an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars with almost 1,800 reviews. More than 2,000 comments praise the cheesecake highly. “I’ve baked this cake three times now and it gets better and better every time,” says one user happily. Another user is also enthusiastic: “I bake this cake according to the instructions and it’s hard to imagine life without it. Everyone loves this cake.”
The top 10 Thermomix recipes include a lemon cake, a “world’s best lasagna” (that’s the name of the recipe), homemade milk rolls, sweet yeast baguettes, broccoli salad with pine nuts or instructions for Naples-style pizza dough. A colorful mix of classics and very specific recipe ideas.
“Not really appetizing”
But where there is light, there are also shadows. And some recipes are definitely not well received in the recipe world.
A “Gouda casserole on minute steaks” performs worst. A shredded mass of Gouda cheese and potatoes is spread over minute steaks in a baking dish and then baked. But the feedback is devastating. Only 1 star after 9 reviews submitted. But the criticism in the only comment simply complains that the meat was “too cooked” and the potatoes were “still raw” – something that the recipe author “Nikiini” can hardly do anything about.
More news:
User “Schirmle” then follows with his recipe for “flambée rolls” – rolls, so to speak, that are baked with the classic tarte flambée topping (sour cream, cheese, bacon, spring onions). What could possibly go wrong? Hard to say. There are no comments under the recipe. However, in just under ten years, the recipe has only received 6 reviews on the platform – and an average of 1.2 out of 5 stars.
And the “Perfect Eggnog” from user “Blomenhof” also achieved an average rating of 1.3 out of 5 stars with only 4 reviews submitted. “I just made the eggnog, but unfortunately it flakes,” complains one user. “Plus, it doesn’t really look appetizing (more like a salad dressing than eggnog).”
Well, as we all know, tastes differ. But with over 82,000 recipes, everyone is sure to find something that they can conjure up with their Thermomix – and that ultimately tastes delicious.
