“The Waterfront,” a new series on Netflix created by Kevin Williamson, unfolds in a small fishing town teeming with secrets, family drama, and criminal activity. The series attempts to blend the gritty reality of a coastal community with the high-stakes world of drug trafficking and law enforcement.

At the heart of the story are the Buckleys, a family with deep roots in the town and even deeper involvement in illicit dealings. Harlan buckley, played by Holt McCallany, is the family patriarch whose authority is constantly tested by external threats and internal conflicts. Maria Bello stars as Belle Buckley,Harlan’s wife,who navigates the treacherous waters of her family’s business with a mix of cunning and vulnerability.
