The Impact Of Newly Graduated Teachers Skills On…

by drbyos

Malmö University, in collaboration with Lund University and the University of Kristianstad, has investigated rectors’ views on newly graduated teachers. The study speaks for itself; new teachers are good at things that are staples of education, such as pedagogy and didactics, but lacking in the skills that come with experience, such as dealing with parents or easily rescheduling.

Deficiencies in these areas have significant consequences. Newly graduated teachers who enter the real world and can’t handle parents, or don’t have the ability to creatively reschedule when they have to, can lead to stress, burnout, and in the worst cases, teacher resignation.

– We lose many teachers who become stressed when they enter the profession, we must be able to prepare them in a better way, says Adrian Lundberg, lecturer at the Department of School Development and Leadership and the Center for Academic Teaching in a press release.

Heating Oil Prices Are Rising Sharply: This Is…

Oil prices rose more than 3% on Thursday on worries about a widening conflict in the Middle East after Israel rejected a ceasefire offer from Hamas. Netanyahu said Israel could achieve a complete victory over Hamas within months.

Brent crude oil prices closed $2.42, or 3%, higher at $81.36 a barrel. This meant that Brent prices clearly broke through the $80 mark and WTI traded above the $75 mark for the first time in February.

Israeli forces bombed the southern border town of Rafah on Thursday after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a proposal to end the war in the Palestinian enclave, Reuters reports.

In the USA, a sharper-than-expected decline in gasoline and distillate inventories (heating oil and diesel) also boosted the oil market. In Russia, damage to refineries from Ukraine’s drone attacks and technical failures led to more crude oil exports than planned in February.

That would potentially undermine a commitment to curb sales as part of an OPEC+ deal, analysts suggest. Under the agreement with OPEC+, Russia wanted to limit its crude oil production to 9.5 million barrels per day (bpd).

In addition, Russian exports of crude oil and fuel should be voluntarily reduced by 300,000 bpd and 200,000 bpd,

The house, located in East Lansdowne, burst into flames two days ago, and authorities have spent the past few days sifting through the debris to piece together the events that led to this horrific incident.

Responding to reports of a child shot, officers from the East Lansdowne Police Department arrived at the scene on Wednesday afternoon only to be met with gunfire. Two officers, Officer David Schizza and Officer John Meehan, were struck by bullets but managed to be dragged to safety by their fellow officers. Both officers were rushed to Penn Presbyterian Hospital for treatment of their non-fatal gunshot wounds. Officer Meehan underwent a lengthy surgery to treat his injuries.

As investigators combed through the wreckage, they made a grim discovery. On Thursday, the remains of three people were found amidst the charred debris, along with a rifle believed to have been used by the shooter to fire at the police officers.

Cleaning Up Illegal Dumping In West Jackson: Prevention…

2024-02-10 03:11:00

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – West Jackson residents are thrilled that an illegal dumping ground is now cleaned up. But, they fear it will happen again if drastic prevention measures aren’t taken.

“This debris was actually gone around 10 o’clock on Wednesday morning,” said Kourtney Christopher Paige.

The West Jackson resident returned to Lindbergh Drive one day after speaking with 3 On Your Side to find mounds of debris removed by Jackson Solid Waste. A toilet and furniture are no longer on the roadway.

“I’m glad that they did come, but I know it will happen again because it always happens in this area, as well as other portions of Jackson,” said Paige. “I really wish they had some cameras to correct the situation. At least they could monitor what’s going on around here.”

Jackson Solid Waste Manager Lakesha Weathers said her division spends countless man-hours removing debris from numerous illegal dump sites across the city.

Eight to 10 tons are collected annually from this area alone.

State Senator John Horhn is introducing legislation to increase criminal penalties and include funding for cameras and license plate readers to be placed in problematic areas of the city.

[A Bem De Angola] We Cant Just Count…

President of the ruling party gave a conciliatory speech during the opening of the ‘Political Year 2024’, which was well received by different segments of Angolan society.

”[A bem de Angola] we can’t just count on those who have an MPLA card, we can’t just count on those who are MPLA activists. We have to count, coexist and work with all patriots (…)”, appealed João Lourenço, as leader of the comrades, during the opening of the party’s ‘Political Year 2024’, in the Camama area, in Luanda.

The party leader, who spoke in front of thousands of party members, friends and supporters, challenged the different MPLA governing bodies to train cadres, aiming to achieve this goal that Angola is the result of all citizens, regardless of party color.

“We have to pay attention to our connection with society. It’s about work, the importance of the work we must do with those who are not from the MPLA, the so-called civil society, where we are, but we are not there alone.

President Bidens Aide Acknowledges Mistakes In Response To…

Reevaluating U.S. Foreign Policy: Lessons from the Gaza Conflict

In a closed-door meeting with Arab American leaders in Michigan this week, one of President Biden’s top foreign policy aides acknowledged mistakes in the administration’s response to the war in Gaza, saying he did not have “any confidence” that Israel’s government was willing to take “meaningful steps” toward Palestinian statehood.

The remarks came after months of public and private admonitions from the Biden administration for Israel to take a more surgical approach in a conflict that has had devastating consequences. As health authorities in Gaza report a death toll of over 27,000 Palestinians, the need for a strategic and constructive response has become increasingly urgent.

Addressing Missteps

The Biden aide, Jon Finer, a deputy national security adviser, offered some of the administration’s clearest expressions of regret for what he called “missteps” in handling the crisis. He acknowledged the damaging impression left by the inadequate public accounting of the value placed on Palestinian lives and stressed the need for improvement in future actions.

During the meeting in Dearborn, Mich., Mr. Finer emphasized the administration’s awareness of the missteps and stated, “We are very well aware that we have missteps in the course of responding to this crisis since Oct.
