The first series of the Dutch series was a great success with great viewing figures and good reviews, so of course a new season could not have been missed.
Second season
Detective Mardik Sardagh (Nasrdin Dchar) is detained after the terrorist attacks of the previous season on suspicion of involvement. While he desperately tries to prove his innocence, his daughter and wife are in great danger. Mardik seems to be the target of a grand and carefully set up conspiracy, but who is behind it?
AIVD agent Joelle (Ellen PARREN) finds out through research that the danger is not only limited to the Netherlands, but spreads throughout Europe. Intelligence services, police and army appear to be infiltrated from within.
In the midst of terrorist threats, attacks and ruthless knock yachts in several countries, Mardik stands for a devil’s dilemma: does he save his loved ones or does he sacrifice everything to prevent an even greater disaster?
Cast
There are of course some fixed faces in the AVROTROS series such as Sophie Veldhuizen and Yannick de Waal, but new actors have also been added to the cast including Tine Joustra, Tjebbo Gerritsma and Noortje Herlaar.
