Rehearsals are already in full swing in Großweil: The Neuwirtbühne is preparing for the premiere of the new comedy “The Brassiere,” written by Sepp Daser, who is also directing and appearing on stage in a leading role.
Großweil – On Saturday, October 18th, the play “The Brassiere” will celebrate its eagerly awaited premiere.
The plot takes us to the late 1950s – a time between a spirit of optimism and strict moral standards. That’s exactly what particularly appeals to author Sepp Daser: “I always want to bring other eras closer to the audience. The post-war period is particularly fascinating for me – and it offers material for a lot of comedy,” he explains.
Decency and order
“The Brassiere” is all about decency, order – and a devastatingly well-placed piece of laundry. In the house of the honorable public prosecutor Otto Trautwein (Sepp Daser), ironclad modesty reigns. His foster daughter Hannelore (Lisa Pangratz) is closely monitored, which doesn’t stop the charming artist Karl Messerschmitt (Matthias Kutter) from coming to visit regularly. But when one morning a brassiere appears on the statue of Saint Justitia, the limit is full! The overwhelmed senior sergeant Hebedanz (Daniel Stowasser) feverishly searches for the culprit – and quickly comes across the petty criminal Grassl (Peter Auer). While housekeeper Christl (Roswitha Leiß) tries to keep the chaos under control, the resolute entertainer Lotte (Marlene Bartl) gets involved and ultimately provides clarification – and a few surprises. The audience can look forward to a fast-paced, humorous comedy that impresses with a lot of contemporary color, quick-witted dialogue and loving characters.
Petticoats and principles
Between petticoats, principles and small scandals, an amusing stage delight unfolds that shows, with a wink, that morality is often just a question of perspective. An evening full of humor, nostalgia – and maybe a cheeky surprise or two.
