The next installment in The Boys universe, The Boys: Mexico, is moving forward at Prime Video, with franchise creator Eric Kripke sharing new details about the project.

According to Kripke, The Boys: Mexico, executive produced by Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal, will have a distinct feel from the original series, describing it as “super fun” with “a totally different tone.”

“The pilot of [The] Boys: mexico is being developed right now,” Kripke told Collider. “It’s very cool. I mean, who knows – obviously you never know, but I can say that the world itself meets the standard of all of our spin-offs. It’s our world but a totally different tone, and it’s super fun. Gael and Diego are executive producers, which is amazing and [thay] really engaged with it, so – short answer is we’ll see, but I think the script is good.”

Reportedly in development as 2023, The Boys: Mexico will be written by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Blue Beetle). The series is expected to be filmed in Mexico, but plot details remain under wraps.

Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal, known for their previous collaboration in Alfonso Cuarón’s And your mom to (2001), may also appear in the spin-off, perhaps in smaller roles.

Kripke wrapped the fifth and final season of The Boys in July, with the premiere set for 2026. Season 2 of Gen v is scheduled to debut on Sept.17, and the prequel series Vought Rising is also in development.Additionally, Prime Video offers the animated spin-off The Boys Presents: Diabolical.
