Each member of the city council introduced themselves to the newcomers. Emma, ​​9 years old, mayor of the municipal youth council, was also present.

In total, 18 diplomas of honor were awarded to the houses with the most flowers. The ceremony continued with the presentation of awards for the most lit houses for Christmas.

The third prize was awarded to Marie Lassier and Laurent Nicot, the second prize to Marie and Stanislas Durand, and the first prize was awarded to Manuel Costa Sousa, whose house can be seen at 28, rue du 8-Mai in Roumazières-Loubert.

Sandrine Précigout, mayor of Terres-de-Haute-Charente, welcomed the new residents by recalling some key figures: the town has around 3,800 inhabitants and has numerous services, including a health center.

“We are still lucky to have doctors, and I hope soon a dentist, since the dentist normally arrives at the beginning of the year. However, we are waiting for the official announcement,” she said.

The town also has a cultural center, 84 associations, a services center and more than 600 students educated on its territory, from kindergarten to college, as well as at the family home of La Péruse.
