Tribute to Teresa O’Leary: A Life Well-lived
In the early hours of February 3, 2025, Teresa O’Leary (née O’Leary), cherished wife of the late John of Tobin’s Bar in Corran, Leap, and Curravreeda, Bandon, passed away peacefully. Her transition occurred under the compassionate care of the staff at Powdermills Nursing Home in Ballincollig, surrounded by her loving family.
A Loving Mother and Sister
Born into a close-knit family, Teresa was a beloved mother to Gerard, instilling in him values of love and resilience. She was also a cherished sister to Edmond, Larry, Josephine, Ann, Mary, Margaret, and Eileen, all of whom will miss her deeply.
Devoted Family and Friends
Teresa’s passing has left a void in the hearts of her son Gerard and his wife, Venita, as well as their grandson Oisín. Her many siblings—Leo, Bernadette, Catherine, Philomena, Ursula, and Patricia—also mourn her loss. Numerous extended family members, relatives, neighbors, and friends felt her warmth and kindness, and they too are grieving her departure.
Memorial Services Honoring Teresa’s Legacy
In celebration of Teresa’s remarkable life, a viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 6 PM to 7 PM at Gabriel and O’Donovan’s Funeral Home in Bandon. Following the viewing, her family will gather for private prayers.
A Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 12 PM in St. Patrick’s Church, Bandon. The funeral will immediately follow the mass and proceed to the adjacent cemetery for burial.
