Zero Constraints to Stay Young: Simple Tips for Good Health Dr. Jimmy Mohamed

2024-02-10 08:00:00

After “Zero constraints to lose weight”, Jimmy Mohamed, media doctor (on France 5 and RTL), does it again with simple tips to stay in good health, sometimes against preconceived ideas.

Good sleep, a balanced diet, a little daily physical exercise. This cocktail, to live as long as possible in good health, Dr Jimmy Mohamed breaks it down into a variety of advice and tips to adopt throughout life, and as early as possible.

“There is no age to start!”, insists the co-host of “Health Magazine”, on France 5, in the subtitle “Zero constraints to stay young”.

You say sleeping in is only for kids. For what ?

Sleep is not a credit card. From the moment we have a sleep debt, even if we try to pay it off, we will always have interest, agios. Sleep that is lost during the week will never be made up on the weekend.

Our brain, in fact, loves doing the same thing, at the same time, from Monday to Sunday. We must try to be as regular as possible because our rhythms of life are synchronized according to sunlight.

Amid the unprecedented and simultaneous epidemic of dengue and chikungunya cases in Goiás, some municipalities in the state stand out and are on the radar of health authorities due to the high rates of requests for hospitalizations due to arboviruses.

The data was passed on this Thursday morning (08) during a press conference at the Goiás State Department of Health (SES). To date, 11,923 diagnoses of the first disease, along with four deaths, have been confirmed, while the second has 930 records.

According to SES Regulation Manager, Lorena Motta, at least three cities in Goiás have had more than 200 requests for hospitalization due to diseases since December 2023.

Grapefruit Juice: A Health Hazard When Mixed with Certain Medications

Grapefruit Juice Can Interfere with Certain Medications

Although it contains vitamin C and potassium, it can also affect how certain medicines work.

Drinking a little juice in the morning with breakfast, or during lunch, may seem like very good advice for the health. And that’s usually the case, except when these natural drinks are contraindicated when taking certain medications.

Although grapefruit juice, like that of other citrus fruits, contains vitamin C and potassium, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) notes that, just like the fruit alone, may affect the operation of certain medicines.

The FDA says the fruit can cause problems by interacting with cholesterol-lowering statin medication, those that treat high blood pressure, medicine to prevent rejection of transplanted organs, anti-anxiety medications, corticosteroids, medicines that treat abnormal heart rhythms, and antihistamines.

This is how grapefruit intervenes in the consumption of medicines

The FDA notes that when there is an interaction of grapefruit juice with medications, this allows more medicine to enter the blood, so the side effects they cause could be more severe. Recently, it has also been discovered that, having the opposite effect, the fruit could cause the medication to decrease in effectiveness.

New Study Shows GLP-1 Drugs Linked to Reduced Risk of Depression and Anxiety, Further Supporting Mental Health Benefits

Exploring the Positive Effects of GLP-1 Drugs on Mental Health

A recent study conducted by health analytics organization Epic Research has shed light on the potential mental health benefits of GLP-1 drugs such as Ozempic/Wegovy. While these drugs have long been recognized for their effectiveness in aiding weight loss, new evidence suggests that they may also play a role in reducing the risk of depression and anxiety among patients.

The study, which analyzed a database representing over 200 million patient records, compared individuals who were prescribed GLP-1 drugs to control groups who were not. The findings revealed that patients who took GLP-1 drugs had a lower likelihood of being diagnosed with depression or anxiety in comparison to those not on the medication.

It’s important to note that while these findings do not establish a definitive cause-and-effect relationship, they contribute to an increasing body of evidence indicating that GLP-1 drugs are generally safe for mental health. This is reassuring news for both healthcare providers and patients seeking effective treatment options.

Prior studies from Epic Research have also explored the real-world outcomes of GLP-1 drug usage. For instance, researchers discovered that many former users continue to maintain their weight loss even after stopping their medication.

60% of hospitals have weak infection control systems, increasing the risk of death 2024-02-10 11:25:59

People come to the hospital with various infectious diseases. All hospitals are crowded with relatives. Even after visiting patients, some of them are suffering from new diseases. Many are threatening the patient even while serving the patient. Due to the lack of effective measures to prevent infection in the hospital, the spreading germs are also affecting the patients or their relatives. The number of patients who come for treatment with one disease and return with another disease is not less. Poor infection prevention and control (IPC) systems in the country’s hospitals are responsible for this.

According to a Lancet study, 13.7 million people worldwide die each year due to infections. A large proportion of these are hospital-acquired. Another study found that such infections are 3 to 5 percent in Western countries and 30 to 40 percent in Asian countries. This means that countries with better IPC systems have lower human infection rates.

A study by six experts
Recently, a group of six expert doctors of Mugda Medical College Hospital conducted a study on the infection prevention system of 37 public-private and corporate hospitals in the country. Among them, 11 government medical colleges, 11 private medical colleges,
