by Archynetys News Desk

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Detectives charged a teen with allegedly stabbing and killing their father during a confrontation between their parents Saturday in Albuquerque.

Police accused the teen of killing 49-year-old Robert McCall. The stabbing happened at around 9:30 p.m. at the Arrowhead Pointe Apartments along Central, just east of Juan Tabo Boulevard and south of I-40.

The suspect allegedly told detectives McCall was “grappling” with their mother during the stabbing. While police stated McCall allegedly pushed down the suspect’s mother inside the apartment and had a history of issues, police allegedly stated the mother didn’t see the stabbing because she was in a different room.

According to APD, the suspect “never stated” they were in fear for themselves or their mother and said they wanted the “abusive actions to stop.”

Detectives consulted with the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office, leading to the teen being booked into the Bernalillo County Juvenile Detention Center on an open count of murder.
