Team Penske had in fact promised to celebrate the team’s sixtieth anniversary throughout the 2026 season, with several special liveries that will revisit important periods in the history of “Captain” Roger Penske’s team.
This is Joey Logano, three-time NASCAR champion. The Cup Series will have the honor of inaugurating the championship with a special livery on its #22 Ford Mustang this weekend, during the fourth round of the championship, at the Phoenix circuit. The livery will be a replica of the Mustang with which Scott McLaughlin and Alexandre Prémat won the most prestigious race on the Australian Supercars calendar, the Bathurst 1000km, in 2019.
It was the perfect opportunity to pay tribute to the victory of McLaughlin and Prémat, since this weekend, the IndyCar NASCAR Cup Series, in which the New Zealander participates, will take place on the same circuit as the NASCAR Cup Series. The single-seater championship will be contested on Saturday, followed by NASCAR on Sunday. Scott McLaughlin will then be able to see firsthand the car that commemorates his victory on the track.
Penske will continue to pay homage to its iconic liveries throughout the year in the various championships in which the American team competes. A new “Yellow Submarine” livery is expected for McLaughlin at the Indianapolis 500, a race that Penske has won twenty times in 109 editions – a record.
