The 74th edition of the Four Hills Tournament is behind us. Before the last competition in Bischofshofen, Austria, Domen Prevc had an advantage of over 41 points over second place Jan Hoerl. On paper, the question of victory seemed settled. However, the Slovenian had to complete the formalities. An exciting fight was also going on behind his back.
Tomasiak confirmed the class. Here is his place at the end of the Four Hills Tournament
Stephan Embacher, third, was only 0.3 points behind Hoerl, second, and Ren Nikaido, fourth, and Felix Hoffmann, fifth, also had a real chance of getting on the podium. Polish fans were, of course, most interested in the result of Kacper Tomasiak, who wanted to keep his place in the top ten after three tournament competitions. And it was very real, because he defended an advantage of over 14 points over Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal (11) and Maximilian Ortner (12). How did the situation change after the last competition?
In Tomasiak’s case, the first series already explained a lot. Although the Pole’s performance was below expectations, as he took 23rd place, his direct rivals jumped even worse. Sundal did not advance to the top 30 at all, and Ortner lost another 4 points to the Pole. Manuel Fettner and Stefan Kraft approached him slightly from the back row. In the final series, the Pole improved and advanced to 19th place in the competition. Unfortunately, it was not enough to defeat the more experienced Austrians. Fettner was ahead of him by 4.4 points, and Kraft by 2.4. Thus, Tomasiak dropped out of the TCS TOP 10 and landed in 12th place, but it is still a great success.
This is the final classification of TCS. Prevc knocked out the competition
And how did the remaining White and Reds fare in the end? In the final TCS classification, Kamil Stoch was 19th, Maciej Kot – 25th, Paweł Wąsek – 35th, and Dawid Kubacki – 43rd. The list of results also included Piotr Żyła, who was absent in Bischofshofen, taking 60th place.
There were no big surprises in the case of the top teams. The leader, Domen Prevc, was leading after the first round. In the second, he fell to second place, but still sealed the victory in the entire series. Ultimately, he had a 42.3 point advantage over second place Jan Hoerl. The Austrian beat his compatriot Stephan Embacher by 2.7 points. The podium therefore remained unchanged. Ren Nikaido remained in fourth place, and his compatriot Ryoyu Kobayashi advanced to fifth place at the expense of Felix Hoffmann. The winner of Tuesday’s competition, Daniel Tschofenig, finished the tournament in seventh place. Raimund, Lanisek and Fettner also made it to the top ten.
