TCL returns to CES 2026 with the launch of an industry-leading innovation, SQD-Mini LED technology, alongside other leading innovations in its portfolio. Based on over a decade of research and development, these advances reflect TCL’s commitment to providing richer, more accurate and more consistent picture quality for consumers around the world.
TCL has been actively helping define the direction of Mini LED technology since 2019 with the introduction of the world’s first QD-Mini LED TV. At CES 2026, the company will demonstrate how this category has evolved through significant improvements in backlight accuracy, panel structure and intelligent image processing. Visitors will also be able to discover the latest version of CSOT HVA, a wide viewing angle panel technology designed to deliver stronger contrast and a superior visual experience from any position in the room, reinforcing TCL’s holistic approach to developing TV technologies.
At CES, TCL will also showcase how it has developed its AI capabilities across TVs, smart home products, mobile devices and more. These solutions were created by TCL’s expert teams in collaboration with global software partners, with the goal of integrating artificial intelligence into users’ daily lives, be it work, entertainment or education. New products and updated features will be announced throughout 2026.
SQD-Mini LED: the foundation of the 8th generation leap in TCL Mini LED excellence
The new range of SQD-Mini LED TVs represents TCL’s most advanced Mini LED implementation ever. It integrates the TCL Deep Color System, which provides a wider color spectrum and improved contrast for any type of content. The SQD-Mini LED refines light filtering at the color level, reducing chromatic interference and maintaining stable color accuracy even in complex, detail-rich scenes.
Combined with the TCL Halo Control System, which effectively minimizes the halo effect around bright objects on dark backgrounds, the SQD-Mini LED range maintains clear and controlled contrast even in well-lit rooms, providing a more immersive viewing experience. The new generation also includes the integration of Google Gemini Interactive AI, giving users total control to create a personalized entertainment experience. All these technologies are integrated into a slimmer design, less than 2 cm thick, designed to blend naturally into modern living spaces.
Compared to previous generations, the improved panel structure and advanced color filtering enable a significantly wider and more stable color spectrum, with up to a 33% increase in color gamut performance and a 69% improvement in color point accuracy, thanks to the evolved Super QLED layer. The result is a stable image at high brightness levels, with better preserved shadows and consistent colors, offering increased realism, especially in scenes that combine very bright areas with dark areas.
Top performance for cutting edge home entertainment
The top-of-the-line X11L SQD-Mini LED TV combines advanced light control with superior color performance, delivering a premium experience for cinema viewing, action movies and live sports broadcasts. The TCL Deep Color System, which uses Super Quantum Crystals (Super QLED), UltraColor Filter and Advanced Color Purity Algorithm, generates more vivid colors and deep hues with an exceptional level of accuracy and realism.
The blooming effect is effectively reduced by the proprietary TCL Halo Control System, an advanced architecture that integrates over 20,000 precise dimming zones and a peak brightness of 10,000 nits. This high level of control allows for fine brightness management, achieving intense highlights and deep shadows without loss of detail. The high density of local lighting areas helps maintain contrast and image structure even in complex scenes with adjacent light and dark elements.
The combination of Super QLED technology and support for up to 100% of the BT.2020 color space for all types of content ensures clear, saturated and highly accurate colors. The BT.2020 standard, used in high-quality cinematic content, allows the X11L to reproduce a wider and more faithful color palette than conventional displays. The WHVA 2.0 Ultra panel guarantees the maintenance of brightness and colors even when the screen is viewed from wide angles.
The ZeroBorder design and UltraThin profile, with a thickness of less than 2 cm, made in collaboration with CMF specialists, allow the TCL X11L TV to blend harmoniously into modern interiors. Every scene is optimized by the advanced TSR AI processor, which uses machine learning algorithms to deliver an exceptional cinematic experience, complemented by a native 144Hz refresh rate panel for smooth rendering of fast movements. The Bang & Olufsen audio system completes the visual experience with ample, room-filling sound without the need for additional speakers.
