A Tallahassee woman died from a gunshot wound on Sept. 13, one day after being shot while visiting family in Maryland, according to local police.
Abby Dunn, 55, a resident of Tallahassee, florida, had returned to her native Maryland where she also attended college.
according to her obituary, she was a longtime member of the Tallahassee Parrotheads, enjoyed heavy metal music, and was a fan of Florida State football games.

One person commented on the Tallahassee Parrothead Club’s Facebook post announcing her death: “Abby and her sweet contagious laugh will be missed! sending prayers up for her family.”
Another wrote, “Abby was a friend, a mentor to others and gone way too soon. A sweetest soul you will ever meet.”
State records indicate that Dunn was employed by the Agency for Health care Administration as an “information technology business consultant manager.”
The Montgomery County Police Department and Montgomery County Fire Rescue responded to a shooting report at a residence in the Dickerson area, approximately 45 miles northwest of Washington, D.C.
Police officers discovered Dunn in an upstairs bedroom suffering from a gunshot wound to her thigh. Detectives are currently investigating the incident, and no charges have been filed as of Sept. 18.
