Sunday March 15 at 6.00 pm Talia Theater in Tagliacozzo will host the screening of the film Napoli – New Yorkthe penultimate event of the 2025/2026 Prose, Music and Cinema Season organized by Meta Aps in collaboration with the Municipality of Tagliacozzo. The film, directed by the Oscar winner Gabriele Salvatoressees among the protagonists Pierfrancesco Favino, Dea Lanzaro, Antonio Guerra and Omar Benson Miller.
Set in Naples in 1949, Naples – New York tells the story of little Celestina, left alone after a bombing destroyed her home, taking away the only relative she lived with. Her older sister Agnese left for America together with a US soldier who promised to marry her, leaving the little girl with the hope of being able to join her one day. Next to Celestina there is Carmine, a slightly older boy who survives on the streets of the city with ingenuity and a spirit of adaptation. The two children meet George, an imposing African-American cook who works on a US Navy ship, and end up clandestinely boarding that ship bound for New York. Once they arrive in the great American metropolis, however, Agnese’s search will not be successful, and will begin a series of adventures.
The director, Gabriele Salvatores, consciously chose a fairy-tale tone by interweaving suggestions that recall great children’s literature, from Dickens to Stevenson to Salgari, with a story that gives a vivid cross-section of post-war Italy. Furthermore, Naples – New York was born from a never-realized story by Federico Fellini and Tullio Pinelli, reworked by the director into a screenplay that combines historical memory and adventure, emotion and imagination.
The program continues on Sunday March 29 at 6.00 pm with the last appointment of the 2025/2026 Prose, Music and Cinema Season of the Talia Theater in Tagliacozzo with Back to the vintage.

On the day of the show it will be possible to purchase tickets online and at the Theater Box Office from 5.00 pm until the start time of the event. Furthermore, for all season ticket holders for the 2025/2026 Prose Season of the Teatro dei Marsi in Avezzano and for the 2025/2026 Prose Season of the Maria Caniglia Theater in Sulmona, they are entitled to a reduced ticket for the shows of the Prose, Music and Cinema Season of the Talia Theater in Tagliacozzo, a choice that unites the three theaters and strengthens a single large cultural network in the area.
