Szoboszlai: Hungary World Cup Dream | Telex

On Thursday evening, a rally between Arsenal and Liverpool will be held in the English football championship, and on the occasion, the British Sky Sports conducted an interview with the Hungarian player of the visiting team, Dominik Szoboszlai.

After the reporter listed Szoboszlai’s achievements in 2025 at the beginning of the conversation (he became the first Hungarian to become the English champion, he got married and had a child), he asked the soccer player about his further goals. Szoboszlai said that he has quite a few goals, for example, he wants to win the Champions League, he wants to be there with Hungary at the next European Championship and the next World Championship. For the latter, he added: “Especially after… but I’m not even talking about that.”

Then, when asked by the journalist how difficult it was for him to digest (the second-to-last defeat against the Irish), the captain of the Hungarian national team said:

“It was very difficult. I’ve never felt so sad. I wasn’t even angry, more sad, but as much as I’ve never felt before. So I owe (Hungary) a World Cup.”

– said Szoboszlai, adding that in addition to winning the Premier League again, another unborn child is also in his plans.

When asked if he thinks they will clash with the future English champions in London on Thursday, Szoboszlai said that winning the Premier League is a tough thing, and it is not possible to announce a winner in January.

“I don’t think we’re playing the future champions and they’re actually playing the current champions.”

However, he added that, of course, Arsenal is among the favorites and he considers them an incredibly good team, but according to him, we cannot forget about Manchester City and Aston Villa either.

In the conversation, his relationship with Mohamed Szalaha was also discussed, Szoboszlai said that they get along very well not only on the field, but also off it, the Egyptian player took him under his wing when he arrived at the club.
