Railcars have driven water to motorists who are stuck in queues on the E6 between Landskrona and Helsingborg, according to the Swedish Transport Administration.
The queues arose after a traffic accident near Glumslöv on Thursday afternoon.
– It started with a traffic accident involving two vehicles that took up two of three lanes. A truck that was going to overtake was stuck on the hill and blocked the third lane, says press communicator Sara Lindström.
Rescuers on their way to the accident site and plow trucks also stuck in the queues.
– In consultation with the emergency services, it has been chosen to drive out with our tracked wagons to deliver water and energy to people.
Traveler Roxy Knudsen, who was first interviewed in Sydsvenskan, says that she sat in the car on the E6 for five hours.
– We drove onto the motorway at 14.45. We were going to Helsingborg and drove out at Landskrona S. We have 1.4 kilometers to go to Landskrona N. We’ve come this far in five hours, she tells DN at 7:30 p.m.
