Sweden Reaches Eurovision Final – ESC 2024

Favorite Sweden took the first hurdle at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC): The Swedish Trio Kaj qualified in the first semi-final on Tuesday evening with her song “Bada Bada Bastu” for the ESC final next Saturday. A total of ten countries continued, five differences.

Norway, Albania, Iceland, Netherlands, Poland, San Marino, Estonia, Portugal and Ukraine are also qualified. Slovenia, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Belgium and Cyprus have been eliminated.

The Swiss NEMO had won the ESC last year, which is why Switzerland is now hosting. Sweden has long been the favorite for winning this year’s ESC, Starter Kaj is a comedy trio from neighboring Finland, which sings a song of praise to saunas. The three also showed one of the most professional appearances in the semifinals.

A total of 26 countries compete against each other in the ESC final. Ten other finalists are sought in the second semi -finals on Thursday. In addition, hosts Switzerland and the five large donor countries of the ESC are set. Among them is Germany that will compete with the sibling duo Abor & Tynna and its song “Baller” this year. Abor & Tynna will appear outside the rating in the second semi -finals and can show the audience in the St. Jakobshalle in Basel.

The siblings from Vienna were recently able to catch up with the bookmakers in the betting shops. So far, they have not been predicted a significant chance of win.

A greeting from Celine Dione was recorded in the semi -final show. The Canadian had won the ESC in 1988 with “Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi”, the victory became the foundation of her later world career. “Switzerland will always have a special place in my heart,” she said in the video. Her victory was a “life -changing moment”.

Dion has been ill for a long time. Because she had sung in Paris last year at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, there were hopes that she would also be on stage at the ESC. Your fans are now relying on a surprise appearance in the final on Saturday.
