Today, on Sunday, September 7, in the sky we will see one of the most beautiful and rarest astronomical phenomena – a bloody Super Moon. This is a unique combination of full moon, its closeness to the ground and complete eclipse. For observers in Poland it will be a real treat, because a similar phenomenon will only appear in a few years.

How is the moon eclipse formed?

The moon eclipse occurs only during the full The sun, the earth and the moon are in one line. Then our natural satellite enters the shadow of the earth. On September 7, 2025, the moon will be centrally in the shadow of our planet, which will make us admire total eclipse.

The atmosphere of the earth breaks down sunlight, which reaches the moon in shades of red and orange. It is this effect that makes us talk about “Bloody moon”.

What time to watch a super -liver?

According to astronomers from the Polish Society of Astronomy Lovers in Bialystok, today’s phenomenon will be as follows:

  • 19:00 – East of the Moon, shield partly in the shade,

  • 19:30 – the moon will start to take on an intense red color,

  • 20:11 – maximum eclipse, the moon will become the darkest and most bloody,

  • 21:52 – beginning of leaving the shadows,

  • 22:55 – End of eclipse, the moon returns to full splendor.

Where is the best to observe the bloody moon?

The best conditions for observation will prevail in areas distant from city lights. It is worth going to the countryside, to the lake or to the mountains, where the sky is darker. However, even from the balcony in the city you can see the red moon disk.

Why is the eclipse special?
