Kleve. On Saturday, September 13th, Kleve says goodbye with a radiant climax from summer: The summer closing concert with the festival of lights transforms the historical forest garden from 6.30 p.m. into a unique backdrop of music, illuminations and a music synchronous baroque and high-altitude fireworks. As always, admission is free. “The forest garden is our cultural living room in summer – and at the festival of lights it shines again in all its facets,” says Wolfgang Gebing, Mayor of the City of Kleve. “We look forward to an evening where music, light and encounter merge into a special experience.”
This year, guests can expect a varied music experience on two stages in the historic forest garden. At the concert mussel, the heart of the forest garden concerts, Gerrit Quade opened the evening with atmospheric sounds at 6.30 p.m. before the Cleveland Bigband provides a swinging atmosphere with rousing big band sound. At the Amphitheater, Micha and Chris will initially get the audience going with handmade music, followed by Querbeat Rhythm & Brass at 8:15 p.m., which bring the park to the shake with energetic wind arrangements. The Arboretum offers a special premiere: street musicians from the Rockschule Hamminkeln are on the road between the illuminated tree giants and ensure surprising musical moments in the middle of the unique parking time with spontaneous appearances.
The environmental businesses of the city of Kleve artfully stage the forest garden. Paths, groups and waters are immersed in atmospheric light and create a special atmosphere for strolling and lingering. Several stands of local providers with a diverse selection of food and drinks take care of the physical well -being. The end of the evening is an impressive baroque and high fireworks at around 9:30 p.m., which illuminates the sky over Kleve with precisely matched effects and ends the summer and the concert season at an atmospheric way.
Since the parking facilities around the forest garden are limited, the city of Kleve recommends the climate -friendly arrival on foot, by bike or in carpools. Parking areas are available at the Wasserburgallee, at the comprehensive school on the forest garden, on Tiergartenstraße on the Tiergarten and on Stiller Winkel street at DJK Kleve sports field. A bicycle parking lot is available on the corner of the Tiergartenstraße-Wasserburgallee. Road closures around the Klever Forstgarten can also be expected. Between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. the event area is closed to car traffic. To do this, barriers are set up at several places along the B9 and on the Wasserburgallee. It is pointed out to the ban on weapons, fireworks, narcotics and taking your own drinks with you. Smart pocket controls are carried out.
