Carlos Mendes is the most recent guest of Issuing Station. On the BLITZ podcast, the musician – who recently celebrated 60 years of career with the release of a triple CD and a book, “Carlos Mendes – Arquiteto de Sons” – recalled his participation in the Eurovision festivalwhere he represented Portugal in 1968 e 1972after having won the Festival da Canção in those years.
On the second occasionin Edinburgh, Carlos Mendes obtained the 7th placeat height a best Portuguese performance ever. But the musician wanted more, as he tells BLITZ. And he tells an episode that took place in the capital of Scotland: “I had just gotten married. Someone came up to me and said: ‘the judge from that country wants to meet you’. I replied that I couldn’t”he recalled. “First place, bye…”.
