Subaru is set to introduce the Trailsseeker to the US market in 2026,as revealed at the New York Motor Show. This medium-sized electric SUV builds upon the foundation laid by the Solterra, offering increased dimensions and enhanced performance while retaining Subaru’s signature adventurous spirit and all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.
Design and Interior: Familiar Yet Enhanced
The Trailsseeker shares design cues with the Solterra, including a straight front fascia, black plastic cladding on the wings and side panels, and a similar interior layout. Key interior features include a 14-inch multimedia screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a 15-watt wireless charging pad capable of charging two smartphones simultaneously, and a convenient 120-watt power outlet.
Performance and Battery: More Power, More Range
Measuring 4.84 meters in length and standing 2.5 cm taller than the Solterra, the Trailsseeker boasts a more powerful dual-motor powertrain, delivering 380 horsepower – a 37 hp increase over its predecessor. The 74.7 kWh battery provides an estimated range of up to 420 km based on the American EPA standard. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in a brisk 4.3 seconds, compared to the Solterra’s 5.0 seconds.
According to a recent report by the EPA, the average range of new electric vehicles is increasing year-over-year, with many models now exceeding 300 miles on a single charge. The Trailsseeker’s projected range positions it competitively within this evolving market.

The Trailsseeker supports fast charging up to 150 kW, allowing for rapid replenishment of the battery. with a ground clearance of 211 mm and a towing capacity of nearly 1600 kg, this SUV is designed for both on-road comfort and off-road capability. Subaru’s symmetrical AWD system, complete with selectable modes for snow, mud, and mountain driving, ensures confident traction in various conditions.
