On Tuesday, May 27, the 2,450 opinion devoted to student work and first job agreements on Tuesday May 27. The government has submitted text projects for them, realizing the government agreement on these themes.
The federal government has made the commitment, in its agreement, to lower the age to 15 years from which student work is possible, and what the student is still subject to full -time or not. He also undertook to abolish the obligations relating to the first job agreements.
The social partners were consulted on text projects realizing these two commitments and therefore made the opinion 2,450.
Regarding the work of students, remember that at present, the student occupation contract can only be concluded by young people aged 15 or over provided that they are no longer subject to full -time education obligation.
It will now be possible, following the reform, to occupy a young person from 15 years of age whether it is still subject to the education obligation or not.
In this regard, the social partners call on the government to ensure the compliance of Belgian regulations in relation to the international commitments of Belgium as to the conciliation between bonds educational and occupation.
The social partners also ask the government to ensure that it is to clarify several specific provisions applicable to young people aged 15 still subject to the full -time education obligation.
Specific attention is also required, according to the social partners, for the sectoral rules allowing the occupation of young people during Sundays and holidays.
Regarding the first employment agreements, the government provides for the abolition of the obligation incumbent on the hiring companies of young people under 26 years of age. This system is indeed characterized by an administrative heaviness and its objective (the hiring of young people under 26 years old) is not achieved by this measure.
The Council recalls that it has given several opinions concerning the first job agreements. From these opinions, it emerged that the hiring obligation was well respected by companies. The social partners highlight the importance of continuing to ensure the integration of young less qualified young people on the job market. They also recall the importance they attach to the alternating teaching system. The Government is also asked to ensure that the obligation is deleted, given the maintenance of certain provisions of this regulation and the fact that the regulations distinguish different types of first employment agreement.
| The FEB welcomes the government’s desire to execute all the commitments made in the government agreement with in particular complex devices for companies and which do not achieve the objectives for which they were created. The FEB is convinced that the integration of the least qualified in the job market is essentially based on their initial training and their support, much more than on hiring quotas. |
