Again and again was invited to the celebration of the Holy Year to church services in the Bischwinder chapel – to match the motto of the Holy Year “Pilgrim of Hope”. The senior citizens from the pastoral area of Gerolzhofen came together a few days ago in the Bischwinder chapel in order to maintain and encourage the sacrament of anointing to the sick.
Deacon Günter Schöneich, representative for the senior citizens’ circles in the pastoral area of Gerolzhofen, had invited to this service in the Bischwinder chapel, many seniors had accepted the invitation. Pastor Christian Wöber, head of the parish community around the Gotthard in the Odenwald, also came as a guest in the pilgrimage chamber in the pilgrimage church “Mother of God on the Holderstock” in Schneeberg, near Amorbach to the Bischwinder chapel. Pastor Christian Wöber, pastor Thomas Amrehn and pastor Erich Hauck from Brünnstadt, celebrated the service as a diocesan priest since 1970 and was now visiting his homeland. Deacon Günter Schöneich assisted the service.
Pastor Wöber reported in his sermon on the legend of the development of the pilgrimage “Mother of God on the Holderstock”. “Holderstock” is another name for elderberry. Elder flowers and fruits have a healing effect, especially against colds. So Maria is also worshiped as the “salvation of the sick”. The sacrament of the anointing to the sick, which was offered to the believers present, is intended as encouragement, encouragement and signs of the proximity of God. The priest is forehead and hands for the forehead and hands of the believers and says: “Through this holy anointing, the Lord helps you in his rich mercy, he is with the power of the Holy Spirit: The Lord who frees you from sins, save yourself in his grace.”
After the service, the co -fiery gave a small cross as a memory on their way, as well as a “wall alarm”. The bad weather made it impossible to linger in front of the chapel; So you stayed in the chapel for a while for a while, then drove back home strengthened.
