Street Fires: Dramatic Video Footage

After attacks on oil storage facilities, flames poured into the streets of Tehran.

The fuel flooded the sewers and drains.

Residents fear possible chemicals in the smoke rising into the city’s sky from the five oil storage tanks that went up in flames.

Some posts – helpful or not – advise people to drink as much milk as possible and close their windows. Others recommend using an N95 mask.

Another user wrote that along with the rain, black gunpowder-like particles fall to the ground. Someone else advised them not to go out in this rain.

The announcement of the Iranian Red Crescent

Meanwhile, the Iranian Red Crescent is warning the public to avoid toxic acid rain after Israel attacked oil depots.

In a social media post, the group warned the public of the dangers of oil facility fires and encouraged the public to stay indoors where possible to avoid toxic pollutants.

He said locals should not go outside after the downpour because of concerns about toxic acid rain, and offered advice on gargling with salt water if anyone has inhaled the oily soot particles rising from the black smoke.

The strikes marked the first time an urban industrial facility has been targeted in war, the Associated Press reported, although US and Israeli strikes have destroyed about 10,000 civilian structures across the country, according to the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
