Steve Miller turned 81 earlier this year, and although he is still considered a steady live artist, the announcement puts a damper on the hope that there will be a few more tours with the veteran band.
When “Steve Miller Band” was started in San Francisco in 1966, the original crew consisted of Steve Miller himself, bassist Lonnie Turner, keyboardist Jim Peterman, drummer Tim Davis and guitarist James “Curley” Cooke.
Miller is the only one who still lives.
After being incorporated into “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” in 2016, he has breathed new life into the catalog of re -releases and collaboration with the Universal Music Group.
For someone who used to sing about “getting away with the money”, it may be a bit poetic that he now refuses the whole tour. The intuition that has followed him through a lifetime of music obviously also decides now.
