by Archynetys Health Desk

An unconditional prison sentence of ten years has been demanded against the soldier VM, who appeared before the Court Martial on Friday, for sexually abusing his stepdaughter. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the suspect also infected the girl with the HIV virus. The alleged victim was 11 years old at the time of the abuse.

The girl is one of the daughters of the woman to whom VM is married. She is said to have written down what had happened to her from the first moment the suspect touched her. At a later time she decided to show these notes to her mother, hoping that she would intervene. According to the statements, support from that side was lacking and the abuse continued.

The case came to light after an aunt noticed that the stepfather was behaving in a noticeable and inappropriate manner towards the girl. She asked her questions, after which the abuse was discussed and the aunt filed a report.

The suspect denies that he had sexual intercourse with his stepdaughter several times. According to him, it only happened once.

The hearing of the case will continue on December 29.
