Bogotá DC, February 28, 2026. Through a fascinating journey that took us from the final in Cartagena in 2025, to arriving in our capital today, “Yami”, our host at this launch, presented to the educational community the national mission of the STEM+ Colombia 2026 Olympics, which for this year will focus its attention on projects based on ‘Water, Air and Energy mediated with Artificial Intelligence’.

Below, we present the most relevant information so that you, your team and your institution are not left out.
Who can participate and how can they do it?
Only teams from Official Educational Establishments can participate, under two modalities:
- Teams nominated through the Certified Secretaries of Education.
- Teams that are part of the Centers of Interest in Science, Technology and Innovation program of the Ministry of National Education, and that are qualified for this call.
In both cases, the teams must have a previously planned STEM+ project (that is, they do not start from scratch) and with the potential to strengthen and mature along the Olympic route, until developing a prototype aligned with the National Mission: Water, Air and Energy with AI.
Registration dates
Key dates are established for the registration process, according to the participation modality.
Modality of participation through Certified Secretaries of Education
In this modality, three (3) key dates must be taken into account:
- February 25, 2026: start of the registration process.
- March 13, 2026: maximum period for the Certified Secretaries of Education to nominate the teams that will represent them.
- March 27, 2026: maximum deadline for online registration, by the teachers of the teams nominated by the Secretariat of Certified Education.
Participation modality through Centers of Interest in Science, Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of National Education
- In this modality, the team teachers will be able to complete the online registration from the February 25, 2026 until the March 27, 2026.
