Final of the fire brigade elections in Lower Austria on Friday. Traditionally, the state commander, his deputy and the quarter commanders are chosen in the last round of voting, which has been taking place in all fire departments since January 15th.

In the Leopoldsaal in the Lower Austrian country house Dietmar Fahrafellner confirmed in his role as state fire brigade commander, as was his deputy Martin Boyer.

“Strength lies in solidarity”

Fahrafellner thanked “for the great trust that was placed in me with this re-election. For me, this clear vote is not only a confirmation, but above all a mandate to consistently continue on the successful path together with our fire departments in Lower Austria.” He promised to prepare the defenses in the best possible way for future challenges.

The strength of the fire department organization lies “in the cohesion, the commitment of each individual member and the reliability that the population can count on at all times.”

“Investing in strong infrastructure”

It is the task of the state of Lower Austria to create the best possible framework conditions for the fire departments, said the state governor Johanna Mikl Leitner: “We make targeted investments in modern equipment and strong infrastructure.” The fire departments are “part of our identity, deeply rooted in the villages and communities and the lifeline of our security family.”

The LH deputy responsible for the fire department Stephan Pernkopf said that the armed forces “need clear and strong leadership and they now have it. Dietmar Fahrafellner has proven his leadership, competence and communication skills in many exceptional situations, be it fire operations, accidents or natural disasters, in which I led the command staff shoulder to shoulder with him.” Pernkopf is proud to continue working with state fire brigade commander Fahrafellner and his team.
