The Bierig association is hosting a beer gala and state championship at the farmers’ market hall, coinciding with the Austrian Beer Challenge (ABC). Admission to the event is €20.

Since its inception in 2003, the ABC has been a prominent event in Austrian beer culture, serving as the countryS only state championship for both professional and amateur brewers. The event promises to be a highlight for beer enthusiasts and those looking to explore the world of brewing.

Blind Tasting determines the Best

Over 760 beers, representing more then 120 different styles, were meticulously analyzed and judged by over 100 qualified jurors during a blind tasting held from May 23rd to 25th.The beers that impressed the jury in both the preliminary round and the final will compete for state championships in 20 main categories, including Pils, Austrian Märzen, and wheat beers. The final judging will take place on June 14th.

The variety is great: everything is included, from classic varieties to creative novelties to American or Belgian beer styles.

A Taste of Victory

all winning beers, including those achieving a “Stockerlplatz” (podium finish), will be available for free tasting to all attendees that evening. The selection includes a wide range of styles, from traditional varieties to innovative creations, as well as American and Belgian-inspired beers. All beers must be brewed in austria to qualify.
