The alliance of European universities STARS EU, in which the University of La Laguna is integrated, will permanently keep its call open for the presentation of innovative academic offers, aimed at teaching staff from member universities who are interested in contributing to the development of a shared European curriculum within the alliance. If selected, the proposals presented could be integrated into the joint academic offer planned for 2026.

The call is open to both new courses designed specifically for this initiative, as well as existing subjects in current study plans that can be shared – with or without adaptations – between partner universities. One of the important aspects to take into account is that the courses are taught in English or can be easily translated.

Proposals can focus on degree or master’s programs at different levels and be presented in online, hybrid or blended. These include methodologies such as Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL), guest lectures taught by guest faculty, Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) or other innovative formats that combine virtual and in-person learning.

One of the aspects most valued by the alliance in this call is that the proposals promote interdisciplinarity, international collaboration, strategic and systemic thinking, global awareness, sustainability and interaction with other regional and interregional actors.

Participation and selection

Interested persons must contact their home university or the STARS EU coordinator at their institution, and complete the form with the basic information of the proposal that they will find on the website. In the case of the University of La Laguna, the contact person is the teaching affairs specialist at the STARS EU office Laura Esquivel, at the email mobilityofficer@ull.edu.es. Once all the applications have been received, the alliance universities will evaluate the proposals and select the courses that will be part of the first joint academic offer in 2026.

The selected proposals will be integrated into a wide-ranging European initiative, aimed at promoting the internationalization of higher education and will have access to a network of universities in nine European countries. In addition, they will receive didactic and methodological support from the STARS EU Curriculum Lab in the implementation, as well as financial support or additional resources from the universities of origin.
