Starfield Engine Boost: Coalition Helping Bethesda | Rumor

by drbyos

When Starfield was released, many people reported that its game engine, the Creation Engine, was no longer being updated, and that the animations and faces in particular felt a bit outdated. However, Bethesda chose to continue using the game engine, although The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered (using Unreal Engine 5) has shown room for better performance.

But there may still be hope. In the latest episode of the Xbox Two Podcast, Windows Central editor Jez Corden revealed that Bethesda is currently receiving assistance from Microsoft’s leading gaming graphics company, The Coalition, and its advanced technology team. The goal is to improve the Creation engine through the many features provided by Unreal Engine 5 to enhance the graphical capabilities of Bethesda’s role-playing games.

We’ve previously reported on a major Starfield update rumored to be coming next year, but apparently the idea is that it will also enhance The Elder Scrolls VI and Fallout 5. Corden said:

“Starfield is undergoing a technical overhaul, and these technical improvements will also affect the gameplay of the next generation of Fallout, as well as the gameplay of the next generation of The Elder Scrolls.”

Of course, this is just a rumor, but we’ll have to wait and see. We all want better looking RPGs, right?
