Tension was at its height on Saturday January 17 on TF1. At the end of a particularly dense bonus, the last square of the season is now known! There were four of them fighting, Ambre, Victor, Sarah and Bastiaan, for three places still available while Léa had already secured her ticket for the semi-finals a week earlier. During the January 10 prime, the mechanics were clearly announced by Michael Goldman: “At the end of the evaluations, there will be three nominees on one side, and a Top 3. The Top 3 will do their battle on the prime, to win their immunity, but not only that! They will all have a challenge from the teachers to take on in each subject”. Before specifying that the candidate who came first would become “the first semi-finalist“.
A three-part evening to decide between the candidates
For the four academicians still in danger, the evening was built in several successive rounds. During the first round, everyone defended their place solo. Victor, saved against Anouk the previous week, delivered his version of Hello mom bobo by Alain Souchon, Sarah bet everything with I Want To Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston, Ambre chose the intensity of If I Were a Boy by Beyoncé while Bastiaan proposed a painting on Don’t Stop Believin’ by Journey. All were greeted by the teaching staff, before finding themselves in highly anticipated duos… Ambre and Bastiaan shared As free as me by Calogero, while Victor and Sarah united their voices on Listen to Your Heart the Roxettes.
The public’s verdict falls…
At the end of these performances, the public first sent Victor to the semi-finals, thus joining Léa. The second round, consisting of a “alone on stage” and a duet with an artist, allowed Ambre to obtain her qualification. There then remained a final battle between Bastiaan and Sarah, opposed on Give me time by Jenifer. The final vote ultimately saved Sarah, thus sealing Bastiaan’s elimination. The casting for the semi-finals is now official: Léa, Victor, Ambre and Sarah continue the adventure.
When his elimination was announced, Bastiaan, very moved, could not hold back his tears. However, he will participate in the Star Academy tour scheduled for the end of February. Arriving first in the last evaluations, Sarah also inherited a strategic privilege: choosing her opponent. Her choice fell on Léa and the first semi-final will therefore take place on Saturday January 24, pitting Léa against Sarah. The second, scheduled for the following week, will bring Ambre and Victor face to face. The Star Academy grand final is set for Saturday February 7. The countdown is on!
