After weeks of anticipation, Spotify Wrapped 2025 is finally out.
Over the years, Wrapped has become a cultural phenomenon and a fun way for users to share what songs and artists have been their favorite during the year. In a news release for 2024’s Wrapped, Spotify described it as a “celebration of the fans, artists, and creators who made this such an amazing year.”

Spotify Wrapped first rolled out in 2015 as “Spotify Year in Music” and rebranded to Wrapped in 2016. It is an annual campaign that combines a Spotify user’s listening data into an interactive display of the user’s most-listened-to music. Users are usually alerted about their Spotify Wrapped with a pop-up when they open the Spotify app.
Typically, Spotify Wrapped displays a user’s top songs, artists and genres. Users are encouraged to share their Spotify Wrapped on social media.
User data is collected from Jan. 1 through the fall of that same year to produce a user’s Spotify Wrapped.

Yes, Spotify Wrapped 2025 dropped on Wednesday morning, Dec. 3.
This year’s report includes new functions including Listening Age, which tells users how old their music tastes make them, and Clubs, which sorts listeners into groups based on their tastes.

When does Spotify Wrapped stop tracking user data?
Considering Spotify Wrapped is released ahead of Dec. 31, users wonder when the streamer stops tracking their listening habits for the year.
Though Spotify hasn’t announced what date it will stop tracking listener data for Wrapped this year, the streaming service has said it continues to track user data for Wrapped beyond Oct. 31, contrary to social media posts claiming it stopped on Halloween.
While the exact date and timeline are not known, senior director of product for personalization at Spotify Molly Holder told Mashable in 2024, the streamer tries to include as much time as possible to track listening habits.
“We start at the beginning of January with all of your listening that begins right then at the beginning of the year, and it goes all the way through collecting data up until a few weeks before we launch the Wrapped product,” Holder told the media outlet.
