Young athletes from across Rio Grande convened at the City’s Sports House for a day of athletics and volleyball, fostering camaraderie and healthy competition.

Last Sunday, June 1, the Sports House of the City of Rio Grande was the venue for a significant gathering of sports schools. The event showcased activities in athletics and volleyball, bringing together young athletes of varying ages and fitness levels, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and healthy competition.

Emmanuel larocca, Provincial Director of Sports Progress of Rio Grande, shared his viewpoint on the importance of these events for the community and the cultivation of young talent. Dynamic Activities for All Ages

“The idea is that everyone participates in all the meetings that the Ministry of Sports does in the city… “

The activities were led by professionals, including athletics teachers, who conducted warm-up sessions lasting 15 to 20 minutes before the participants engaged in volleyball. “Athletics teachers were responsible for heating the girls and boys, and then moved to the courts to play the volleyball,” Larocca explained. This approach promotes physical activity and encourages socialization among the youth.Coaches ensured participants understood the importance of preparing their bodies through stretching and mobility exercises.

City Clubs Encouraged to Participate

Larocca highlighted the significant number of young people involved in these activities. “In the Sports House, as a call in Volley, they are around 60 to 65 boys between 8 and 21 years old. It is the school with the most call we have in the Sports Secretariat,” he stated.Participation extends beyond the Secretariat’s schools, with youth from other clubs also joining. “It is open to the community. The idea is also to participate clubs, and I think there are boys from other clubs that participate because they know each other,” he added, noting that this interaction enriches the sports experience and fosters friendships.

The role of Sports Professionals

Larocca emphasized the dedication of professors Ana, Laura, and Elijah, who are committed to the development of young people. “They take the boys because they play in the association, in the Federation, and participate in tournaments in Ushuaia. it is already a club, the main saeid, although we do not have legal personality,” he explained. Their commitment is vital for the growth and motivation of young athletes, focusing not only on technique but also on values such as respect, discipline, and teamwork.

Talent Identification and Development

Larocca stressed the role of the Ministry of Sports in activating sports spaces and identifying talent.”The Ministry of Sports began with a talent detection plan in different disciplines, and what better than these meetings to be able to individualize those girls and boys who have conditions for certain disciplines,” he said. This proactive approach helps nurture young people with potential, ensuring a promising future for sports in Rio Grande. Periodic evaluations monitor progress and adjust training accordingly.

Recreational and Competitive Balance

Larocca also noted that the meetings focus on both competition and recreation. “These meetings serve to bring the boys for a recreational meeting. They come to spend some time of participation, to play the Volley, which is what they like,” he said.this balance is essential for the well-being of young people, allowing them to enjoy sports without undue pressure.Playful games and activities promote a positive and friendly atmosphere.

Future activities Planned

Larocca mentioned the continuation of these meetings throughout the year, with monthly activities planned in various disciplines. “We started in March with an acrobatics meeting in fabric and artistic gymnastics. In April we did an awareness event on autism, and now in May we have to do volleyball and athletics,” he said. This planning ensures multiple opportunities for young people to participate and develop in different sports. New activities, such as nutrition workshops and mental health talks, are also being considered.

Community Invitation
