Split: €46.9M Loan for City Investment Projects

by Archynetys Economy Desk

The city of Split will borrow around 46.9 million euros from OTP Bank and Zagrebačka Bank to finance investment projects. The Split city council decided this on Tuesday evening with 27 votes in favor and two abstentions.

As already explained, this loan will finance three garages in Split – in Sućidr, Ravne njive and the Trstenik district – at a fixed interest rate of 2.29 percent.

The renovation and construction of eight streets, sidewalks and sidewalks will also be financed.

The adoption of the loan decision was preceded by a heated debate between the center councilor and former deputy mayor Bojan Ivošević and the incumbent mayor Tomislav Šuta.

Ivošević has repeatedly criticized the current government and Mayor Šuta, saying, among other things, that they are stage-managing and behaving in a populist manner.

Šuta responded and accused Ivošević of spreading lies, manipulating and deceiving the public.

“You are illiterate, you are incompetent, and during your term you have caused damage to the city of Split,” Šuta said.

Ivošević countered and described the current government in Split as a “Frankenstein coalition”.

This is what Ivoševiću has to say about it. “It’s not like you’re in a position to make a donation in Grad Split,” he says.
