The iconic Pontiac Firebird Trans Am sports car disappeared from car dealerships decades ago, but the legend lives on.
It was this nostalgia that inspired the American firm Trans Am Worldwide to revive the model name, after Chevrolet launched the fifth generation Camaro in 2010.
To bring the Trans Am back to life, the team used a Camaro as a base and transformed it into something truly unique.
Trans Am: Bought a new car – and parked it for 10 years
From muscle car to supercar
They redesigned the body panels, revamped the interior and gave the powertrain a complete overhaul. The result was a car that can compete with real supercars.
The model, known as the Trans Am Super Duty, was limited to just 50 examples.
Trans Am Specialties in Florida is now offering two of these rare cars to new buyers, writes the car website Carscoops.

Over 1000 horsepower
The first example, car number 12 of 50, has a deep black paintwork combined with silver rims.
Under the hood is a 7.4-liter supercharged V8 engine that produces over 1,000 horsepower and 1,418 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
That’s more power than the original Bugatti Veyron could boast, and still outperforms many modern supercars.
These are extreme levels of power, especially when you consider that the car was built in 2017 – several years before Ford launched its latest Shelby GT500 which delivers 760 horsepower.

Looks angry
Like all Super Duty models, it features redesigned bumpers, updated grilles and new lighting elements both front and rear – all styled to carry on the legacy of the iconic ‘screaming chicken’ logo.
It just looks wicked!
Inside, the exclusive treatment continues with black and gray leather interiors, highlighted by blue edging and embroidered logos on the seatbacks and headrests.
Do you remember this one? Coolest movie car of all time!
T-top
The second example for sale, number 3, comes in blue paint and has removable carbon fiber T-tops, along with the same ferocious 1,000 horsepower engine.
The interior has a combination of black and red leather.
While the price of the black car has not been stated, the blue model has a suggested price of NOK 2.8 million.
That’s certainly a lot of money for something based on a Camaro, even with carbon fiber body panels and four-figure horsepower.
Still, this nostalgia trip, served with a hearty dose of supercharged excess, may have some appeal for devoted fans of the brand.
