However, the main focus of weather hazards continues to be the sometimes excessive heavy rainfall. The maximum estimate from the weather computers is up to 350 liters of rain per square meter in the coming days – with the risk of life-threatening floods, landslides and flash floods.
While the majority of forecasts continue to focus on the eastern Spanish mainland as the focus of severe weather, some calculations now see another source of severe storms and enormous water masses. Namely in the east of Mallorca, where over 300 liters of rain per square meter could also come together.
Even if all of these forecasts are still subject to uncertainty as to the exact distribution of precipitation, they still show the potential danger of this severe weather situation, which holidaymakers in particular should keep an eye on the current forecasts, the weather radar and the corresponding warnings.
