SpaceX Prepares to Launch Another Starlink Rocket: Key Details and Timeline

SpaceX Prepares for Another Starlink Mission to Boost Constellation

SpaceX continues its mission to expand the Starlink megaconstellation with an upcoming launch. The aerospace giant is gearing up to send another batch of Starlink satellites into orbit, adding 20 hinzu to the currently deployed network.

Launch Details

The Starlink 9-9 mission is slated to take off from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The liftoff is set for 4:44 a.m. PDT (7:44 a.m. EDT, 1144 UTC) on Tuesday morning. Spaceflight Now will provide live coverage of the launch, starting about 30 minutes before the launch.

Mission Highlights

This mission features 13 satellites equipped with Direct to Cell (DTC) capabilities. The integration of these satellites will bring the total number of DTC Starlink satellites to 272. The launch will be conducted using a Falcon 9 rocket, one of SpaceX’s workhorse vehicles that has a robust track record of success.

Booster Landing

Seven minutes and 45 seconds after liftoff, the booster, designated B1075, is expected to make its descent and land on the SpaceX drone ship, appropriately named ‘Of Course I Still Love You.’ If successful, this landing will represent the 106th booster landing on OCISLY and the 360th overall.

Starlink Expansion

The continuous expansion of the Starlink network is instrumental in SpaceX’s goal to provide global high-speed broadband Internet. By adding more satellites to the constellation, SpaceX is poised to enhance the service’s coverage and performance, facilitating faster and more reliable connectivity around the world.
