Until now, research had focused on the mobility of sperm, but the new study analyzed their behavior in conditions of almost zero gravity, thanks to a special centrifuge that simulates microgravity. The researchers observed human, mouse and pig sperm as they attempted to navigate a model of the female reproductive system, fertilize the egg and develop the embryo.
