Oberrasen – An information meeting took place in the Oberrasen cultural center on Thursday. This was organized by the South Tyrolean medical company in collaboration with the local HGV section.
The topics of the meeting were the correct hygiene measures and the prevention of infectious diseases with a view to the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics – an event of global importance that will bring numerous international guests to the Antholz Valley, the venue for the biathlon competitions.
During the meeting, which lasted approximately two hours, useful advice was given on correct preventive measures both outside and inside accommodation establishments such as hotels, restaurants and bars. In addition, information flyers from the South Tyrolean medical company were distributed in German, Italian and English.
“This was a good opportunity to discuss the right measures to prevent infectious diseases both in the community and in the kitchen,” explains the Primaria of the Hygiene and Public Health Service (SISP), Dr. Silvia Spertini. “The exchange was very positive. Our experts are always ready to act quickly and cooperatively to protect the guests, as well as the local population and the staff of the accommodation providers.”
The managing primaria of the Service for Food and Nutrition Hygiene (SIAN) of the South Tyrolean Sanitary Company, Dr. Dagmar Regele, discussed hand hygiene, keeping your distance in the event of symptoms that indicate an infection, but also food safety in general: “In my lecture, I focused on avoiding the transmission of pathogens through food. Fortunately, South Tyrolean kitchens already have a high standard of hygiene, so that the exchange of opinions with those present Hoteliers and restaurateurs were very constructive. Another important point is the need to protect the staff in the accommodation establishments. If an employee feels unwell due to an infectious disease, he or she must stay at home and is also obliged to inform the employer.
