“Given the condition of the Cipeucang landfill which is currently in the process of structuring work, the management and distribution of waste transportation is carried out in a measured and gradual manner. The transportation process continues to run every day and continues to be evaluated to make it faster and more effective,” he explained.

Asep said that the South Tangerang City Government was not only focusing on short-term handling, but also on strengthening the waste management system as a whole. His party promised to strengthen waste management from upstream to downstream and optimize the waste fleet and infrastructure.

The South Tangerang City Government also encourages community participation and discipline in waste management and opens up space for communication with all elements of society to find sustainable solutions. The South Tangerang City Government, said Asep, is committed to dealing with waste problems.

“Collaborating on waste management with other regions, both through regional governments and the private sector, as part of the short and medium term solutions,” he said.

“Developing waste to energy management as a long-term solution that is environmentally friendly and sustainable,” he added.

Previously, dozens of students held a demonstration at the office of the Mayor of South Tangerang (Tangsel) following the ongoing trash polemic. They also expressed their protest by dumping two garbage trucks at the South Tangerang Mayor’s office.

“The demonstrators from BEM UMJ carried out an action to unload rubbish from 2 trucks carrying rubbish and gave speeches next to the South Tangerang Mayor’s Office,” said East Ciputat Police Chief Commissioner Bambang Askar Sodiq when used, Thursday (8/1).
