Amendments to the law “On Non-Profit Organizations”, called the “law on foreign agents”, were signed by the President of Kyrgyzstan on April 2. The changes tighten operating rules for non-governmental (NGO) and non-profit (NPO) organizations. In particular, now authorized government agencies will be able to demand additional reporting from organizations that receive money from foreign donors and attend their events, and the tax service is allowed to conduct unscheduled inspections.
