SEGA has announced the Sonic the Hedgehog 35th Anniversarycelebrating the iconic game that debuted in Genesis on June 21, 1991 through a trailer and various celebration plans throughout 2026. Now we get peculiar news related to some of its most debated deliveries.
And it is that Sanzaru Gamesthe studio behind Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal and Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice on Nintendo 3DS, has been closed by Metathe parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. In recent years, the team worked on virtual reality games for Meta and thus joins other studies of the group that have also been closed, such as Armor Studio y Twisted Pixel.
Meta has explained that these closures are part of a change of strategyreducing their investment in the metaverse to focus more on the development and growth of wearable devices.
